The Institute has plans to offer classes leading to the award of certificate in Leadership Studies. To this end, in June 2010 the Institute will be working with some of our external partners for the design of the course, curriculum and related materials towards the take off of the Leadership and Civic Training School.
This activity will produce the course curriculum to be used, along with related trainer and learning materials. It will involve developing a training curriculum and production of materials (modules) for students of this program.
Aims and Objectives
The primary aim of this training school is to impart knowledge and skills and develop positive attitudes and behavior towards national issues and nation building. It is aimed at building a deeper understanding, acceptance and tolerance of the diversity and plurality of Nigeria.
Through this school, the Institute hopes to
- Develop a new class of servant leaders who will lead with humility, love and the fear of God
- Sustain and build a business class characterized by integrity and innovation
- Develop leaders in civil and public service whose policies are based on justice and
- Rekindle confidence and self reliance of the Nigerian populace in the Nigerian leadership
Target population
Our target will include primary school pupils, secondary school students, union leaders of tertiary institutions and community and religious leaders. Police/community relations will also be part of this project. We expect that the first batch of students will be enrolled by October 2010.
